World War II – Live as it Happened on This Day in History

Follow World War II “live” on Twitter as if it were happening today.

@RealTimeWWII is a Twitter account that “live tweets” World War II as if it were happening in real time today.

That’s all there is to it really.

This is a multi year project by Alwyn Collinson, following World War II from the 1939 to September 1945 for the 6 years and 1 day of World War II. It highlights all of the well known moments of this time in history, but also covers many interesting and obscure parts of the war that even World War II history buffs probably haven’t heard of. The twitter account includes many little known photos, adding interesting context.

“War” begins again

At the time of this writing, the twitter account is less than one month into World War II. Now is a great time to learn more about the History of World War II.
