USFA ZIP 22 – Quite Possibly the Worst Firearm Ever

How often has a gun been so bad, it destroyed a once reputable gun manufacturer?

When a gun company, once known for producing the best single action army reproduction revolvers, is destroyed by a single gun, it’s gotta be a horrible gun. That gun company is (was…) USFA, and that gun is the ZIP 22.

This gun is so bad… it’s hard to describe. How anyone could let this gun leave a design on paper, let alone make it to commercial production is mind-boggling.

The design & history of the USFA ZIP 22

Not only is the design absolutely awful, but the gun is completely unreliable.

How bad can a gun be where the point of a range session is to get slow motion footage of malfunctions?
