Anyone here think it is a good idea to rob a gun shop? No? Well, you’re already smarter than this guy. The shop owner expertly defended himself and his employees, and there’s plenty of lessons we can learn from his actions.
Yet another example showing us that criminals do not like confrontation, just easy victims. It also shows us how quickly most gun fights are over.
By definition, criminals are always the aggressors in self defense situation. They get to set the time and place of the attack – they get to set the ambush. Self defenders are always reacting to what the attackers do, which puts self defenders in a bad spot since the first shots on target usually determine the outcome of a gun fight.
Since compliance does not guarantee safety, it is sometimes (but not always) a good idea to defend yourself. IF you defend yourself, it is important to wait for the right moment to launch the counter attack and to conceal your draw to give yourself as much time as possible.
Remember, not all situations provide opportunities for a reasonable counter attack and sometimes it’s better to just give the criminals what they want and hope they don’t want your life as well. But if the opportunity presents itself, move quickly and with everything you’ve got.
