The Sportsmen’s Heritage and Recreational Enhancement Act passes through committee. Contact your representatives and urge them to support the SHARE Act.
H.R.2406, known as the Sportsmen’s Heritage and Recreational Enhancement (SHARE) Act, has passed through the House Committee on Natural Resources and is headed to Congress for a vote. This is a huge step forward for restoring and protecting gun rights.
Notable Provisions of the SHARE Act
- Contains the Hearing Protection Act (HPA), which classifies suppressors as a firearm accessory, removing them from the NFA allowing them to be purchased with just a background check
- Secures access to Federal public lands for hunting, fishing, and recreational shooting
- Reforms the Firearm Owners’ Protection Act (FOPA), protecting the transportation of unloaded firearms through places unfriendly to the 2nd Amendment
- Removes the “sporting purposes test” qualification, which will prevent arbitrary ammunition bans
“Today marks an important step in protecting the Second Amendment freedoms of America’s hunters and sportsmen and strengthening our outdoor heritage. The SHARE Act will cut burdensome red tape that restricts millions of hunters and sportsmen.” -Chris W. Cox, executive director, NRA-ILA
The SHARE Act had stalled after the D.C. Baseball shooting in June, when several Republicans where shot, including the House of Representatives Majority Whip, Stephen Scalise.

Now is the best time for us to secure several 2nd Amendment protections, as well as make suppressors more accessible. Please contact your representatives and urge them to support the SHARE Act. Two minutes on the phone can make a huge difference.
When calling, be respectful, and concise. Being rude to the aide who answers the phone will not help. Tell them your name, zip code, and what bill(s) you would like them to support.
