Americans have set yet another gun buying record, making October the 18th straight month of beating the previous months’s record.

The 2,333,539 checks through the National Instant Criminal Background Check (NICS) in October is 350,000 more than October 2015.

2016 has already seen 22,206,233 NICS checks, putting 2016 as the second highest year for gun sales, right behind 2015. However, at this rate, 2016 will easily surpass 2015 as the most gun sales within a year.

It will be interesting to see if we rise from 44% of households owning a gun to 50% of households owning a gun by the end of the year or early in next year.

These statistics continue to defy the claims of the anti-gun movement that only a small few amount of Americans own a gun and it’s the power of the gun lobby that is protecting the 2nd Amendment. That is simply a statistically false statement, a significant portion of America owns at least one gun, and the majority of America is against gun control.

With Black Friday right around the corner, November will be yet another month of gun sales records.
