The History of the M60 Machine Gun

This video takes a very thorough look at the history of machine guns and what lead up to the development of the M60. Warfare changed drastically from World War I to World War I. With such fast advancements in military hardware, nations kept on copying each other and keeping what works and tossing out what doesn’t. The German’s MG 42 was devastating on the battlefield, which largely inspired the development of the M60.

While 10 minutes is a little long of a video, if you’re interested in the history of firearms, and/or military tactics, this is a fascinating educational video to watch. The contrast of its involvement in military history and how it shapes entertainment is quite interesting to say the least.
