Hillary Claims America’s Police Are “Outgunned” – Fact Check! She’s Wrong.

I know we’re all surprised that Hillary’s anti-gun claims are incorrect and that her continued assault on the Second Amendment is not about public safety, but hey, here we are. She claims, “Right now we have too many military style weapons on the streets. In a lot of places our police are outgunned” and is sure to blame the gun lobby and leave out how the majority of America supports gun rights.

Support for stricter gun laws in America is declining

Hillary’s “Outgunned” Claim

According to the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial Fund, we can clearly see that handguns are most commonly used in police murders by far. To me, “outgunned” means during a firefight, one side has significantly greater firepower than another. Cops carry handguns on their person, and pretty much all cops have a rifle and/or shotgun in their patrol vehicle. On top of that, cops can have fully automatic rifles, while average citizens cannot. To add to that, the majority of officer deaths are not gun battles, but ambush attacks. Definitely not a firefight and “outgunned” is not an applicable term.

Police Deaths by Firearms

Not only are police deaths by firearms on the decline, but overall police deaths by crime in general are on the decline. Since total police count is also on the rise, the overall per capita rate of officer killings is on an even steeper decline.

Officer Deaths on the Decline

The anti-gun crowd wants the world to believe America is living in a constant shootout with deaths left and right. However, America is actually in one of the safest time periods in modern history. Don’t forget that.

It is paramount that we stay vigilant and continue to correct anti-gun lies.
