4 Pro-Gun Organizations to Join to Support the 2nd Amendment

Pro-gun organizations are on the frontline of the war for our 2nd Amendment rights. Donate to these pro-gun organizations and help restore our 2nd Amendment rights.

4 Pro-Gun Organizations to Join to Support the 2nd Amendment Pistol Drill

The 2nd Amendment is under heavy attack, and 2018 has barely even started. It is extremely important to not be a pro-gun slacktivist, and join pro-gun organizations that are fighting the good fight in Washington to not only defend, but actually restore our 2nd Amendment rights. There are many pro-gun organizations out there – too many for the average citizen to join and still maintain a balanced budget. So here are four excellent 2nd Amendment organizations worth joining.

The best part? You can join these organizations for less than the cost of eating out with the family or skipping an overpriced Starbucks coffee a few times.

Gun Owners of America

Gun Owners of America advertises itself as the only “no-compromise” pro-gun organization out there. While they aren’t the only one, they are certainly among the few. Either way, the anti-gun media certainly don’t like GOA, having said they are “tougher” than the NRA. They spend time talking to politicians, raising awareness for critical issues concerning the 2nd Amendment, and filing lawsuits and fighting for the 2nd Amendment in the courtroom.

They really are a “no compromise” 2nd Amendment organization.

Firearms Policy Coalition

The Firearms Policy Coalition had hundreds of thousands of members, and those members give the FPC the strength to pursue legal action at the state and federal levels to take back our gun rights. They are down in the metaphorical trenches, fighting against a government that tramples on the constitution.

They are very on the ball in this fast-paced political environment, helping keep the rest of us up to date with what is happening in Washington. Take a look at the FPC’s Take Action page to contact your representatives about various issues. They were also the first organization to file an impressive lawsuit against the bump stock ban.

Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) is a 501(c)4 grassroots, non-partisan, nonprofit organization that advocates for individual liberties and important constitutional rights—especially those protected under the First Amendment (Free Speech, Association, etc.), Second Amendment (Right to Keep and Bear Arms), Fifth Amendment (Takings, Due Process), and Fourteenth Amendment (Due Process, Equal Protection, Privileges and Immunities)—sound public policy, and related issues through legal action, direct and grassroots advocacy, research, education, outreach, and other programs.

2nd Amendment Foundation

The 2nd Amendment Foundation works hard in the judicial branch to challenge unconstitutional gun laws all across the United States. While they don’t focus as much as awareness or advocacy as other organizations, they have a number of critical wins and critical upcoming lawsuits. The 2nd Amendment Foundation is critical in the defense of the 2nd Amendment.

The Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) is dedicated to promoting a better understanding about our Constitutional heritage to privately own and possess firearms. To that end, we carry on many educational and legal action programs designed to better inform the public about the gun control debate.

Find state focused organizations

It is extremely important to not only fight for our 2nd Amendment rights at the national level, but keep up the fight at the state level. Politics has a bit of a snowball effect that rolls uphill from the local, to the state, to the national level. The more states we get passing pro-gun laws, the easier it is to pass pro-gun laws at the national level.

Here’s a nice list of pro-gun organizations focused at the state level.

A List of State Level Gun Rights Groups

But a particular shout out goes to the Calguns Foundation.

The Calguns Foundation

The Calguns Foundation is obviously focused on California legislation, but California is an important battle ground for the 2nd Amendment. The Calguns Foundation is leading the charge in California with multiple lawsuits challenging critical anti-gun legislation, such as an “assault weapons” registration challenge, challenging microstamping and the handgun roster, and others. Check out Calguns’ Litigation page for more examples of what they’re doing in the courtroom. Wins in California translate to wins across the US.

We take legal action to restore freedom and protect your Second Amendment rights.

In California and other “battleground states” where the legislature is hostile to Second Amendment rights, gun control laws will mainly be attacked through litigation. We file both tactical and strategic major-issue cases to defend and advance your gun rights.

Join Calguns

There are too many local and state focused organizations to list, but please seek them out and support their efforts.

Why isn’t the NRA on the list?

Recently, the National Rifle Association has endorsed both bump stock bans and red flag laws. Not only has the NRA recently endorsed some anti-gun legislation, the NRA the reason why we have some long standing anti-gun laws such as the NFA. Many of their members and leaders in the organization are staunchly pro 2nd Amendment – people like Colion Noir are excellent allies to the 2nd Amendment. But until there are some changes within the National Rifle Association, I cannot endorse people joining or donating to the NRA – instead, I will use my existing lifetime membership to change them.

Which organization should I join?

Why not join all four plus a local pro-gun organization in your area? The war over the 2nd Amendment is fierce right now. A few key wins for the anti-gun movement could be disastrous for all of our constitutional rights.

I am a member of all four and I would encourage everyone to join them as well.

Written by - always a student, sometimes a teacher.

I don't consider myself a competition shooter - I think of myself as a performance pistol shooter. I am all about performing at as high of a level as possible. Towards that end, I am obsessive about learning how to perform. I spend a lot of my life learning from the best across the entire firearms world and even into other areas of performance and other sports. I am a USPSA Carry Optics Grandmaster, currently working towards my second GM title in the Open division.
